Miami Skating Academy Head Coach
Zak is a recent graduate of Trine University with a Bachelor of Science in Sport & Recreation. At Trine, he was a three-year team captain for Trine's Varsity Synchronized Skating Team. Zak is currently an Intern for Programming at the Goggin Ice Center and is a graduate student in Miami's Sport Leadership and Management program. This season, Zak is an associate Synchronized Skating Coach for Team Precision Edge working with the Preliminary, Pre-Juvenile, and Intermediate Teams. Zak is excited to begin his first year with Team Precision Edge and is excited to see our program grow.
Natalie is a senior finance and accounting double major who will earn her master's in accounting this year. She is currently on Miami's Collegiate Varsity Synchronized Skating Team where she is one of the captains. Natalie has been skating since she was 6 years old, both on synchronized skating teams and individually. She skated on Synchro St. Louis for 4 years and St. Louis Synergy's Junior Team for 2 years. Natalie is a gold medalist in Moves in the Field, Dance, and Solo Free Dance. She is planning to test for her senior freeskate this fall. Natalie is coaching all four Team Precision Edge teams and is very excited to help the teams progress this season!
Melissa is a Junior Psychology Major at Miami University and skates on the Senior Synchronized Skating team. She is from Peekskill, New York, and grew up skating on Team Image for 7 years, 3 of which were at the Junior level. Melissa has competed for Team USA since 2019 and is extremely grateful to have skated at 2 World Championships with Miami. Outside of synchro, Melissa has gold medals in Moves in the Field, Dance, and Solo Free Dance. In the future, she hopes to continue coaching and plans to attend Grad School for Clinical Psychology.
Carly is a sophomore at Miami University majoring in Primary Education. She has been a dancer her whole life and grew up training at The Academy of Dance Arts in Middletown, OH. She has also trained at Planet Dance in Cincinnati, OH. She is currently a member of Dance Theatre at Miami University, and is in her third year of performing at Kings Island. Carly fell in love with teaching while assisting and leading dance classes during high school, and now is training to become an elementary school teacher. She is so excited to be working with such talented young skaters this year!
